Ten Family Friendly Tampa Bay Charity Walks or Runs
April 28, 2009

This past weekend, I did something I haven’t been able to do in a long while. I participated in a charity walk. My family and I walked 5 miles in downtown Tampa for the March of Dimes. It was a fantastic event, there was lots of fun for the children, all sorts of giveaways and we had a great time as a family. But most importantly, I began teaching my children lessons about charity, community and philanthropy. Why hadn’t I participated in one of these before with my children?

Tampa Families Support the March of Dimes
April 13, 2009
On April 7th, a beautiful one year old little girl named Maddie passed away. At 17 months old, she was a miracle in her own right. You see, Maddie was born premature and with very little hope of survival. But Maddie did survive. She lead a beautiful life, filling her parents’ lives with light, until she passed away unexpectedly last week. Her parents attribute her short life to the support and assistance of the March of Dimes. Maddie’s mother is also a blogger and so her story has truly moved me as I “knew” Maddie through her mother’s blog posts and stories. Today’s post is in honor of Maddie and a little boy named Keona, who I will introduce to you shortly. Today’s post will raise awareness about the March of Dimes and hopefully encourage you to either donate to or walk for this cause in the upcoming Tampa march on April 25th.
